- The Servery: A faculty has been submitted to the Diocese and we are due to have a visit from Diocesan representatives to look at the proposal.
- Old Churchyard: An archaeologist’s report has now been received and we are able to use this to address the maintenance issue.
- Video Installation: The cameras are now working but there remains a problem with the syncing of the sound with the vision on our streams.
- Heating Repairs: There is the need for a part replacement and we are investigating whether this can be paid for under our guarantee.
- Autumn Events: There will be our second scarecrow festival on the weekend of our Harvest Festival (21st/22nd October). There will be a light Harvest after the Worship for All service on the Sunday. The church will also be open from 10:00 to 12:00 on the weekdays following this weekend (support required to man this). There will also be corn dolly making during this time. The PCC are considering having a Bangers and Bonfire Evening to end the festival on Friday 17th October. This is dependent on enlisting sufficient support to run the event.
- Patronal Festival: We will have our Pop-Up Shop on this weekend (9th/10th December) and there will be a light lunch of soup and mincepies following the festival service on the Sunday.
- Worship Sub Committee: This group is focussing on provision for families and children
- Mission, Outreach and Charities: It is intended to broaden the scope of Hope Café and also to introduce support for a different charity each month.
- Friends of St Nicolas Church: The purpose of the Friends has been reviewed (see Friends section of the website). There will continue to be quarterly Taplow Talks plus an annual event (alternating between Open Gardens and Art Exhibition). The quarterly Friends Newsletter is to become an email.
- Finance: The PCC agreed mandate changes to the Churchyard account.
- Health and Safety: the first aid box is to be checked and updated.
- Safeguarding: our draft policy was adopted.
- Hire Fees: in the light of increase costs, the PCC agreed to raise fees for the hire of the church to £350 for a full day and £250 for half a day.
- The parish newsletter: the next edition is due to be produced in August and we need more advertisers.
