- Servery update: when we have the architect’s drawing, we will submit our final proposal to the Diocese. The work will not be done any time soon!
- Video and TV screen use: our sound and video system is now working well and the temporary cable is to be taken out soon. The trial of having a TV in the porch area with a welcome and notices seems to be working well.
- Heating repairs: The new heating system is out of warranty and so we are proposing to enter into a maintenance contract.
- Storage: a group has met to consider rationalising the storage of things in church. This is ongoing.
- Laity leading intercessions: we now have a member of our congregation leading our intercessions at all Parish Eucharist services.
- Churchyard maintenance: the annual letter has been circulated to those with relatives buried in our churchyard seeking donations towards the cost of maintenance.
- Christmas Fair Review: this was regarded as a big success and will be repeated next year. We intend to invite those raising money for charities to have stalls as well as our November Charity.
- The Kneelers Project: we hope to have an exhibition of our kneelers and the stories behind them on the day of our Open Gardens Event (Saturday, 8th June)
- Calendar Planning: the PCC planned the calendar for the year related to the three strands of our mission statement: Open Minds, Open Hearts, Open Doors. In addition to our pattern of services, we will have a Lent Course integrated with our Sunday worship, we will stream the St Martin-in-the-Field lectures in the Autumn, We hope to have a Spring Fair in March as well as a Christmas Fair in November, the quarterly Taplow Talks will be supplemented with a Quiz night in April. All activities for this year are recorded in the calendar on our website.
- Area Children and Youth Worker opportunity: along with the other Jubilee churches, we are hoping to apply for Diocesan funding to appoint an Area Children and Youth worker. The deadline for submissions is October.
- Fabric: we have two roof problems at the moment; one on the north side and one on the south. These are being addressed but are likely to cost several thousand pounds.
