Spring Craft Fair: Next Saturday (12th) from 10:00-12:30, we have our Spring Craft Fair with a crafts theme. It is coming together; please do anything you can to promote the occasion and of course bring a friend along on the day!

Our Monthly Charity Appeals: Our March Charity Appeal for Maidenhead Magic Wheelchair Basketball raised a wonderful £385! Kristen is really touched by everyone’s generosity and support and says this will make a huge difference – thank you.

For April, we are looking to support Christian Aidwith a specific focus on Myanmar. Christian Aid is working closely with partners and networks to identify the extent of the damage and the risk to communities there in three main ways:

Releasing emergency funds: They are releasing emergency funds so that local partners can begin to reach affected communities with vital life-saving assistance
Assessing the damage: With partners, including those in the most affected areas, they’re currently assessing the damage and scaling up an emergency response.
Community-led emergency response: The immediate emergency support that Christian Aid can offer includes offering food parcels, water kits, shelters and cash for essential supplies.
Please make your donation by using the Charity Box in church or the card reader (recording the amount and date to ensure your donation goes to Christian Aid).
Holy Week and Easter: Next Sunday is Palm Sunday; the start of Holy Week with Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and finally Easter Day. This year, part of our Good Friday reflections will include a performance of Brahms Requiem with our augmented choir and a chamber orchestra. The Requiem and Service will start at 1:30pm and end at 3:00pm. All are welcome. This performance and service is being live-streamed (single fixed camera) on https://youtube.com/live/7bLLAqiv64I

Monthly Financial Update: Jessie, our treasurer writes: “Expenses still remain high because March saw the cost of roof repairs £740, plus an annual payment to Burnham Deanery for £250. Even stripping these costs out, we really are struggling financially to meet our commitments. St Nicolas bills are not exempt from the rises we are all suffering. If you are able to review and raise your regular giving for this new financial year, this would be most helpful.”

Taplow Choirs: The next concert at St Nicolas Church by our Taplow Choirs is on Saturday, 26th April (7:00pm) and will include Ascot Brass performing alongside Taplow Children’s & Boys’ Choirs.

Taplow Hub: The latest edition of our Parish Newsletter is now available and will be delivered to all homes in Taplow during the next week. You can access the newsletter online by clicking this link.

Renewing the Electoral Roll: Thank you to everyone who has already filled in the form. If you still have to complete the form, please collect one from the back of church, complete it and put it in the red box. Alternatively complete the form online; it’s a quick job! please click this link to complete the form.

Church Cleaning: Could you give an hour or so once a month to join our rota of volunteer cleaners: we work in pairs to vacuum the carpet, mop floors, empty bins, clean the kitchen and toilet etc to make the church welcoming for all to use. It is a chore we share: if you will join our rota, we all benefit! Please do talk to Carole for more information.

Parish Giving Scheme: Our treasurer, Jessie Cooper points out to us that the very best way to contribute to the work of our Parish Church is to use the Parish Giving Scheme. If you do not yet use this way of donating to church and you would like to know more about it or ask any questions, please contact Jessie Cooper (Parish Treasurer) in confidence… by email: jessie.stnicolas@gmail.com or phone: 01628 603187
