Traidcraft Regenerators Cake Sale:

Our cake sale last week raised an amazing £554, which when doubled by the government means that £1108 has been raised for Traidcraft.  Thanks to all who baked, bought and donated for this worthy cause.

St Anne’s Church Cream Teas: First the sad news:

It is with regret that the friends of St. Anne’s church have decided to discontinue serving Cream Teas during the Summer months of July and August. The teas have been very popular for a number of years raising much needed funds for St Anne’s Church.

Now the good news!  We propose to try a Take Away Service after the morning service at St Nicolas on the third Sunday of the month during June, July and August starting on June 20.  Each tea will consist of two freshly baked scones, one fruit and one plain, jam and cream.  Gluten Free will be available.  Each tea will be £5 with all money going to St Anne’s Church.  Unfortunately we will only be able to accept cash. The cake sale held on the first Sunday will continue as before.

Worship for All: This monthly family orientated service on the fourth Sunday of the month resumes again this month (27th June).  The theme of the  Service is ‘He’s got the whole world in His hands”.  Refreshments and activities from 10:15, service at 10:45.  All are welcome.

Being a Member of the PCC: If you have not yet served on our PCC, might you consider doing so?  We have more than one vacancy at the moment and it would be wonderful to have some more fresh minds!  The commitment involves attendance at some six meetings each year plus the APCM and involvement in the work of one of our sub-committees: worship, mission and outreach, finance, social, fund-raising.  The next meeting is at church on the evening of 22nd June.  Please do think about whether you might serve our church in this way and talk to Jane, the Church Wardens or any member of the PCC about it.  Thank you.

Annual Parochial Church Meeting:  This was  postponed in April for obvious reasons.  The meeting has now been scheduled for  Sunday, 4th July after our morning Eucharist.  Please note the date in your diary.

The Friends of St Nicolas Church, Taplow: St Nicolas Church means lots of things to many people who do not attend the church regularly.  This Summer, we are re-launching ‘the Friends’ to encourage our wider community and the many people who have worshipped at our church and moved away, to maintain their link with our church community.  There will be a quarterly ‘Friends’ newsletter, an annual event (in the autumn) and we will invite Friends to all of our special events and  services.  We will all be able to join ‘the Friends’ and we will be inviting all of our Taplow community to join us.  You can join on this website – go to ‘The Friends’ section. We would also want to include people who have moved away.  Who do you know who might like this opportunity?  Please could you email Nicki Jeffries with the names (and contact details if you have them) of people we should be inviting.  Thank you.  More information about ‘the Friends’ soon.

Pilgrimage to the Holy Land: members of our congregation are joining a special pilgrimage at the end of September this year. This is a wonderful opportunity to see many of the places where Jesus lived and worked. If you feel this might be something for you, do please contact Jane, our Vicar to find out more about it.

Parish Giving Scheme: Our treasurer, Jessie Cooper points out to us that the very best way to contribute to the work of our Parish Church is to use the Parish Giving Scheme. If you do not yet use this way of donating to church and you would like to know more about it or ask any questions, please contact Jessie Cooper (Parish Treasurer) in confidence… by email: or phone: 01628 603187
