Breath of Summer
who breathed this world into being,
who is discernible within the harmony of nature,
the perfection of a butterfly’s wing,
the grandeur of a mountain range,
the soaring eagle and humming bird,
thank you for this world which you have created.
The summer is already flowing past at speed. I pray that you are enjoying a good one.
After busy and successful fund-raising events with the summer fete, the garden party, the Phantasy Trio concert, we are now enjoying a quieter season. Not that you would think it on a Wednesday afternoon in St Nicolas church as mums and babies and toddlers join us for playtime, tea, cake and chat throughout August! It is a real joy to welcome them after our quiet communion and lunch and I’m grateful to Caroline for making it happen and to Phil, Pam, Marion, Linda, Jennifer, and others who make them so welcome during our Open Wednesday. And of course, it is busy season for St Anne’s as Sue and her team continue to welcome many visitors to Cream Teas in the churchyard throughout this month … don’t miss out if you haven’t yet made the trip to St Anne’s for a cream tea this year – 3pm to 5pm every Sunday until 25thAugust.
If you find yourself with a bit more time over the summer months, why not create a space for personal reflection and book a place on the next Oasis day?
