Every six years, all parishes are required to re-create their Electoral Roll. We all need to do this. The old roll must be destroyed.
To be on the electoral roll you must be:
- 16 years of age or older
- A baptised member of the Church of England
- A baptised member of another church which subscribes to the doctrine of the Holy Trinity
In addition, you need to be either:
- Resident in the parish(this means the church parish – at St Nicolas our boundary runs down the middle of Hill Farm Road, Boundary Road, Station Road and Marsh Lane in the east, and roughly along the Thames in the west. (Tick Box 2A)
- Or, if you don’t live in the parish, have been worshipping with us regularly for at least six months(Tick Box 2B)
Those on the list are qualified to attend and to vote at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting.
You should have received an electoral roll form with your pew sheet on Sunday 10thFebruary. More are available at the back of church. We are setting up an Electoral Roll Helpdesk at the back of church on Sundays 10th, 17thand 24thFebruary. Completed forms can be left here and there is help for anyone who wants it.
