This free event is for residents to paint stones that will become part of the Burnham Labyrinth as a way to remember these Covid times. Anyone can join in. The event is being held in the Burnham Resource Centre car park (at the back of Burnham Health Centre’s car-park). There is very limited on-street parking, please walk or park in Summers Road car park, which is less than 2 minutes away.
Paints, stones, brushes and all other equipment will be supplied on the day. All we ask is that you bring your creativity! You can paint a stone in any way your heart desires. It could be painted your favourite colour, or painted with the name of a loved one you may have lost, perhaps painted to celebrate someone you saw as your hero during this tough time, such as the NHS, a carer, the postmen, couriers and shop workers or a friend/family member, it is completely up to you.
The painted stones will be laid as part of the Burnham Labyrinth, a memory of the Covid period that will be a place where anyone can visit to remember. Memories may include the lock-down, schools mostly being suspended and spending more time together as a family, friends and relatives who may have passed away, new jobs or hobbies that you have started and the rainbows that showed our gratitude for all the care workers. We have all been affected in some way by the Coronavirus.
To keep Covid safe we need to limit the number of people painting stones at one time, so please book a timed entry slot. On the day, all tables will be spaced, equipment will be sanitised between each session. Although this is an outdoor event, please wear a face covering if you prefer.
