At St Nicolas Church, Taplow this Sunday (10.45am), our Curate, Rev. Suzanne Johnson will be celebrating at our said Holy Communion for the first time, following her ordination as priest on Saturday, 19th September. Of course we will be taking care to keep us all safe asking everyone to:
- Wear a face covering
- Maintain 2m distance
- Hand sanitise
- Bring your own order of service (there will be a copy available for you if you haven’t got one)
- Pew Leaflets will be available and it is also online
- Sing only in our hearts!
By Friday this week, there will be a pew leaflet available for Sunday with the Collect, the Readings, and our Notices. After the service, there will be a short drinks reception in our churchyard to honour Suzanne’s priesting. This reception will be held under COVID-19 Secure status and people attending are asked to bring their own glass or mug, maintain social distancing when leaving the church going into the churchyard and keep within a single group of up to six people during the reception.
Online Worship for 20th September
If you cannot join us in church on Sunday morning, please be assured that our online worship includes the Bible readings, the sermon and the prayers which we are using in church PLUS some lovely hymns and other musical offerings. This offering is in the ‘Services’ section of the website so simply come online from Sunday morning and click on the ‘Services’ tab to participate or click the ‘online worship’ title below to go straight to the service. From this month, you will be able to access all Sunday services as the weeks go by.
This week’s Diocesan service takes place online at 10am on Sunday. Click the image to go to the service. We are delighted to welcome as our president, the Revd Dr Tess Kuin Lawton, Chaplain to Worcester College Oxford and Vicar of the Parish of Black Bourton. The Rt Revd Colin Fletcher, Bishop of Dorchester, is giving the address from his home. This weekend deacons across the diocese will be ordained to the priesthood. So our service celebrates the theme of Vocation – remembering that each of us are called by God by our common Baptism.
