Recently, the congregation at St Nicolas on Sunday mornings have been ‘bowled over’ by the new Woodcraft stall open after the service selling beautiful wood crafted items from fruit bowls to fridge magnets! There are egg cups, door wedges, pen and pencil stands, ear ring trees, candle holders, coasters and much more all produced from local felled trees by Jim Oliver. Jim is also able to undertake commissions and in the first two weeks has raised over £350 for the South Side Appeal. Beginning to think about Christmas presents? – go no further, people will really appreciate something which has a strong local character, looks and feels good and is in a very good cause. The stall will continue every Sunday after the morning service up until Christmas.
