The Advent Star Trail gives small groups of schoolchildren the chance to explore the meaning of Christmas as we follow the star to different zones around the church building. We remember Mary’s secret, the shepherd’s awe and wonder, the wise men’s gifts, and the greatest gift of all – Jesus the light of the world.
On Friday 7thDecember Years 4 and 5 (aged 8-10) from St Nicolas school will visit St Nicolas church in groups of 15 children at a time to take part in the Advent Star Trail. If you would be interested in helping (perhaps reading a short Bible passage or encouraging children in their activities, or helping their discussions) or would like to simply observe what is happening, please speak to Jane as soon as possible.
Help to move furniture and set up the zones around the church on Thursday 6thDecember would also be very welcome!
The same event will run in St Anne’s church with Year 2 children from Dropmore Infants (aged 6-7) on Thursday 13thDecember.
